1. Epoch 460Ah Self-Heated Battery
Power is the heartbeat of your rig, but traditional multi-battery banks are often an overlooked source of clutter and complexity. Upgrading to the Epoch 460Ah is our favorite way to simplify a build: it allows you to consolidate a massive energy reserve into a single, high-density footprint.
Whether you are replacing a bank that has been cycled for years or looking to eliminate the wiring "spaghetti" of four or five smaller batteries, this is the most space- and budget-efficient lithium solution we’ve found in 2026.
MSRP: $1,499.00
Energy Density: 460Ah (5.88kWh) in a compact Group 8D footprint
Cold-Weather Capability: Internal self-heating allows charging down to -4°F
Intelligence: Built-in Bluetooth for real-time health metrics via the Epoch App
Weight Efficiency: ~84 lbs (provides double the usable energy of a 160 lb AGM bank)
Longevity: 6,000+ cycle life backed by an 11-year manufacturer warranty
2. Baja Designs LP6/LP9 Spotlights
Precision Lighting
The Baja Designs LP Series replaces the guesswork of nighttime navigation with tactical-grade clarity. While factory high beams are designed for predictable highway use, the LP6 and LP9 are engineered for the unpredictability of washboard roads and backcountry trails. The "instant value" here is in the proprietary Integrated Peripheral Technology (IPT)—side-projecting LEDs that illuminate the "ditches" where wildlife and obstacles hide, providing a massive 200° spread of usable light.
MSRP: ~$489 (LP6) / ~$618 (LP9) per light
Lumen Output: 10,300+ (LP6) / 12,500+ (LP9)
Peripheral Lighting: 200° spread via patented Integrated Peripheral Technology (IPT)
Durability: IP69K rated (Waterproof up to 9ft & Pressure Washable)
Serviceability: uService® technology allows you to swap lenses and optics in the field
The CAV Setup: We often pair these with a roof rack, but custom mounting solutions are available to mount these to the grille, hood, or bumper of your van. Add Baja Designs S2 side-lights to create a seamless, 360-degree light curtain around the vehicle.
3. AVATAR OFFROAD SKI 4 STORAGE BOX
For the winter warrior, the Avatar Offroad Ski 4 is a necessity. It’s a weather-tight, vertical vault that mounts to your rear door, purposefully designed to keep the "melt" outside. In terms of quality, we haven’t found anything better—it effectively doubles as a mudroom for your gear, ensuring no more soggy floors or road-salt-covered equipment ever touch your upholstery.
MSRP: $2,445.00
Capacity: Securely fits 4 pairs of skis, 4 snowboards, or a mixed quiver + poles.
Internal Height: 80 inches (fits up to 200cm skis comfortably).
Weight: 74 lbs (Heavy-duty, precision-welded aluminum).
Year-Round Versatility: Internal shelving is swappable, turning it into a gear locker for summer inflatables or camp chairs.
The CAV Setup: We recommend mounting this to the Avatar Massif or Sir-Packs-A-Lot rack for the most rigid, rattle-free exterior storage solution available.
Pro Tip: This locker is a heavy-duty "add-on" and will not mount directly to your van's factory sheet metal. To install this correctly, you will need a dedicated rear door carrier. We recommend the Avatar Rear Door Carrier as the most rigid foundation for this setup.
Get Inspired with Trail ➜
Built on Ford’s rugged Trail package, this machine is the gold standard for navigating Colorado’s demanding backcountry with its factory lift and intelligent AWD.
Inside, we transform this capable foundation into a sophisticated, off-grid sanctuary featuring precision-engineered cabinetry and natural materials.

4. Flatline Van Co (FVC) Roof Rack
The FVC Low Profile Rack provides immediate structural utility for owners looking to maximize the vertical footprint of a Sprinter or Transit. Installed in a single afternoon with basic tools, this rack transforms a stock roofline into a high-capacity modular platform. The laser-cut aluminum construction and T-track crossbars allow for a "set it and forget it" installation that can be reconfigured in minutes to suit seasonal requirements—moving from a high-yield solar array for summer off-grid stays to a streamlined gear layout for winter expeditions.
Performance & Specifications
This rack is engineered to prioritize a low center of gravity and aerodynamic efficiency, minimizing the wind noise and drag common with tubular factory racks. Its modularity ensures that future upgrades—such as AC units, fans, or Starlink mounts—can be integrated without drilling new holes or compromising the vehicle’s weather-tight integrity.
MSRP: starts at $1,695.00
Weight: 51 lbs (Precision-machined 3/16" Aluminum)
Added Height: Less than 4 inches above factory roof rails
Weight Capacity: 500 lbs Static / 300 lbs Dynamic
Acoustics: Aerodynamic wind-fairing design to eliminate highway whistle
Compatibility: Seamlessly integrates with factory rails, AC units, and Fiamma F45S awnings
5. Dometic RTX 2000 AC
The Dometic RTX 2000 is a transformative upgrade for off-grid cooling. Unlike traditional rooftop units that run from an inverter or shore power, the RTX 2000 runs natively on 12V DC power. This allows for the most efficient climate control, providing the freedom to camp in high-humidity environments or leave pets securely in the vehicle without the noise, vibration, or fuel consumption of a generator.
MSRP: ~$2,399.99
Cooling Capacity: 6,824 BTU (Turbo Mode)
Efficiency: Proprietary variable-speed inverter compressor for ultra-low amp draw. Pulls about 19A on Eco mode. Maxes out at 58A
Operating Modes: Four performance levels (Boost, Eco, Auto, Manual)
Quiet Operation: Designed specifically for sleeping quarters with minimal decibel output
Integration: Compatible with Epoch 460Ah, Victron lithium systems, or any 12v battery bank for extended runtime
Pro Tip: When paired with a high-capacity lithium bank like the Epoch 460Ah, the RTX 2000 can maintain cabin temperatures for 8–12+ hours on a single charge. This setup effectively turns your van into a 24/7 climate-controlled environment, regardless of where you park.

6. Agile Off-Road RIP Kit
The Gold Standard in Handling.
The Agile Ride Improvement Package (RIP) is the industry benchmark for correcting the "boaty" handling characteristic of heavy, high-roof vans. Most premium builds operate near their maximum gross vehicle weight rating, which causes factory suspension to bottom out and creates dangerous sway during highway passing or cornering. The RIP kit replaces generic components with custom-tuned leaf springs and shocks calibrated specifically to your van’s unique weight distribution.
MSRP: ~$3,200.00 - $4,800.00 (varies by van type and weight spec)
Components: Custom-rate rear leaf springs, Fox 2.0 or 2.5 shocks, and heavy-duty front coils
Ride Quality: Eliminates "side-to-side" rocking and dramatically improves stability in high winds
Off-Road Performance: Increases bottom-out resistance and improves traction on washboard roads
Ride Height Increase: ~2.0 inches (allows for larger tire clearance)
Maintenance: Serviceable shocks for long-term durability
Primary Benefit: Transforms the driving experience from a "top-heavy cargo truck" to a "stable off-road capable luxury SUV."
Our recommendation: While the Agile RIP Kit is our absolute "must-have" for Mercedes Sprinter owners, we haven't forgotten the Ford enthusiasts. For Transit builds, we recommend the Quigley Q-Lift system to achieve the same level of stability and clearance while maintaining Ford’s factory warranty specs. Regardless of your platform, we leverage our partnership with TOURIG to facilitate the installation at their Golden facility.
